About

I'm Giacomo — most people call me Gorge. By day I'm a test engineer working on semiconductor test programs. The rest of the time I'm a maker who's never managed to stick to one subject.

gorgelandia is where I keep notes on all of it: circuits and cordials, telescopes and topsoil. I write things down mostly so I don't have to solve the same problem twice — the blog is the running log, and Projects gathers the longer threads.

How I tend to work

  1. 01Prefer hardware that's easy to repair over hardware that's nice to build.
  2. 02Write it down while it's still annoying, not after.
  3. 03If the slower path is the correct one, take the slow path.
  4. 04Buy the used test gear — it was built to last.
